Promoting Parental Involvement
All staff & partners will work to develop and maintain the involvement of parents in their child/young person's education. Westmuir High School will continue to seek new ways of encouraging parental interest and maintain effective home-school communication.
Parents should be:
- Welcomed and included in the life of the school
- Involved in helping develop the school’s vision, values and aims
- Fully informed about their child’s education and learning
- Helped to support learning at home
- Encouraged to express their views and take part in decision making
Trusted Adults
The role of the Trusted Adult is to establish a good relationship with the young person and their parent/guardian to support the young person to reach their full potential. Regular contact will be maintained by the Trusted Adult or Principal Teachers to ensure parents/carers are included in their young person's educational life and subsequently can better support positive progress.
