Modern Studies

The Modern Studies department fosters attitudes of enquiry, responsibility and open-mindedness.

Arguing a case, listening, note-taking and using the media as sources.

We look at: the importance of keeping an open mind, function of newspapers and television, read about the North/South divide. Investigations by pupils range from the facilities in the local area to world trouble spots

Assessment is continuous with class tests and assignments to help support young people’s learning and progression.
